<p>Fact: True to some point, but the dieting rule of thumb applies &ndash; no diet will help you unless you take charge of your eating habbits and make sure everything you eat is the right type of food.</p>
<p>The only way to make sure this kind of dieting works is to double check if all the vegetables on your menu give you all the calories and nutrients your body needs.</p>

<p>In fact eating a lot of food that gives you no nutrients and calories, but only fills your stomach, can have negative effects in the future. Because plants have a lower concentration of nutrients than meat, your body will require more food in order to make up for this difference.</p>
<p>And let&rsquo;s not mention a strictly vegetarian diet. It will get you an insufficient amount of vitamin D, B12, zinc, calcium and iron.</p>
<p>Such substances come from milk-based products and eggs, but&nbsp; true vegetarians cannot have such things. As a vegetarian, you have to rely on very few and uncommon vegetables that provide these substances.</p>

<p>The main purpose of any good diet is to supply your body with all the minerals, calories and proteins it can need.</p>
<p>Cutting out foods without a regard for the actual needs of your body is something *no* good diet does. This is just not healthy.</p>
<p>Fad diets cannot keep the promise of permanent weight loss because it keeps the body craving for those forbidden foods and will always make you break the rules.</p>
<p>The thing about *permanent weight loss* is some exercising in a combination of avoiding food that makes you fat without giving nutrition to the body.</p>

<p><strong>Fact:</strong> A diet like this gets the dialy required calories from foods that have a lot of proteins such as meat, eggs and milk-based products. Additionaly a very small part of this diet is taken by foods containing a lot of carbohydrates &ndash; potatoes, fruits, pasta and bread.</p>

<p>The real downside of this diet is that it forbids a lot of popular foods, which can easily bore or frustrate the user. When those two enter the scene, giving up is just around the corner.</p>
<p>Another downside is the lack of nutrients which are usually given to you by carbohydrate foods. This allows the user to eat bacon and cheese that raise cholesterol levels.</p>
<p><strong>The bottom line</strong> is that a high protein/low carbohydrate diet results in rapid weight loss for some users, but it&rsquo;s not only the fat that goes away.</p>
<p>Some muscle mass is lost and a lot of water because the kidneys try to work harder to get rid of the body excess waste, caused by protein and fat.</p>
<p>This additional pressure to your kidneys is a bad thing. In the long run will lead to dehydration, feelings of nausea, dizziness and headaches.</p>
